Nathan: contraptions and word scrambles

I have really enjoyed this week off with the kids and spending time together. We went to the museum and planetarium together, had a few playdates, visited with family, and just enjoyed eachother's company. I love watching Nathan and Maddie's interactions together. You can tell that they really miss eachother when Nathan is at school. One day Nathan decided to spend over 30 minutes reading books to Maddie. And I even got to clean Maddie's room during this time which was an added bonus. Here is a cute clip of him reading a bit of "Pretzel" to her. He chose it because it used to be one of his favorites. He is a great big brother.



And here is a random note that I found a picture of declaring his love for Maddie. Nathan wrote this on his easel about a year ago, last March. We need to keep this for the future days when she starts to drive him nuts. It's only a matter of time.



Nathan did lots of the things he loves this week, like math games, building contraptions, and word scrambles. Nathan has always loved doing word scrambles, but it has been quite a while since he has done any for us. Here is one of his word scrambles he came up with if you are in the mood for a little challenge.



And then there are the contraptions. He has spent a lot of time on contraptions and K'nex this week (and the computer as well). Here are a couple of his many contraptions and a video of one in action.
